Between Bray and Wicklow Town are at least six small streams which originate in the low hills of the coastal plain, and flow either directly into the Irish Sea or into the complex of marshes beginning at Kilcoole and extending to the Murrough.
Most of these streams have multiple local names depending on the location or in reference to the nearest village.
